Social and financial counselling

The social and financial counselling is there to help with questions and difficulties of a financial, social and personal nature. Sometimes brief information is enough, sometimes the solution to a problem requires more intensive discussion. With their knowledge of a wide range of topics, our social counsellors can help you find solutions.
Counselling usually takes place in a personal one-to-one meeting. However, you can also call or send an e-mail - all enquiries will of course be treated confidentially.

What ist social and financial counselling?

Our social and financial counselling service is there for you if, for example:

  • are about to start your studies and have questions about the first organisational steps in this new phase of your life
  • want to find out about the costs and financing options for studying (with or without BAföG) as well as benefits for students
  • would like to know what special features there are for students when it comes to jobs, insurance, scholarships, loans and state benefits
  • want to find out what additional support you can receive as a student with a disability or chronic illness, as a pregnant woman or student with a child or as an international student
  • need help with organisational decisions (changing subject, dropping out, taking a semester off)
