Support! Group for long-term students

Studies rarely turn out to be a short and straight line, They are rather associated with challenges and always with internal conflict, too. The motivation to study and the work attitude, available time resources and the personal life situation often have a significant impact on the course of the studies. The reasons for a delayed graduation can vary widely.

A common feature in the group for long-term students at the TU Braunschweig is to deal with one’s own objectives and the implementation of those. The following questions for example may be discussed together:

  • What does a successful work organisation look like? How can I plan individual work steps?
  • Which structuring is right for me?
  • How can I develop positive learning experiences? What has so far prevented me from doing so?
  • What about my entitlement to benefits?
  • What do I need to successfully complete my project?
  • What steps are required to complete the degree? How do I manage realistic long-term planning?

Within the group meetings, clarification-, structuring- and working aids are used for the realignment. Topics that are strongly in demand are deepened according to requirements. Participants of Support! work on individual problems, the group sees itself as a learning community and offers a forum of mutual support. The members reflect on their learning- and working process, both in personal exchange and via an accompanying online tool.

You don't have to take the steps towards graduation alone. It is easier to start anew together!

Support! Group and counselling for long-time students at Ostfalia Hochschule

Studies rarely turn out to be a short and straight line, they are rather associated with challenges and oftentimes with internal conflict, too. The motivation to study and the work attitude, available time resources and the personal life situation often have a significant impact on the course of the studies. The reasons for a delayed graduation can vary widely.

The Support! Group considers itself as a compass to help getting clarity about the personal steps towards graduation. In order to do so, personal goals will be set and specific steps for reaching these goals.

The weekly meetings are alternatively taking place as in-person- and online-meetings. Clarification-, structuring- and working aids are used for the realignment. The group considers itself as a learning community and offers a forum of mutual support. Topics that are strongly in demand (such as procrastination or stress) are deepened according to requirements. The participants reflect on their learinng- and working process and strengthen their skill, to recognize theit own competences and ressources. Furthermore, they have the chance of individual counselling sessions on personal problems. If participation in the group sessions is not possible in general, the support-offer can also be turned into individual coaching sessions.

You don't have to take the steps towards graduation alone. It is easier to start anew together!
